bio

Carla Arnevik is a ceramicist and multimedia maker working and living in Saint Paul, Minnesota and teaching weekly beginner wheel throwing classes at Dock 6 in NE Minneapolis.  Currently in the midst of exploring the integration of personal narrative in her wheel-thrown stoneware work through layered slip surfaces and historically referenced flasks, she dreams of one day opening a solar-powered studio in the heart of the cities. After graduating in June of 2020 with a two-year ceramics diploma program from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and in 2014 with a BFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota Duluth, Carla most recently completed the Minnesota New Institute for Ceramic Education at Northern Clay Center in November 2022.

She has exhibited in group shows at the Saint John Art Centre , Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the MacBeath Gallery at Kings Landing, and the Connexion Gallery at the Charlotte Street Art Centre and was the recipient of the Duffie Crowell Award and Governor General's Award for Academic Excellence in 2020.
